Wednesday

Wednesday night:
This morning i went to the gym and worked out, ate a decent breakfast and went to the PT sample room. We spent the whole day in the sample room today looking at lasts and pullovers and minor outsole adjustments. But all in all, very easy day. We went to lunch at the vegetarian restauant again and it was awesome again! Afterward we walked thru the city to the other office to deal with some minor issues on some production shoes before returning to the sample room.

Although, largely uneventful, Wed was a little difficult. I was having some pretty bad back pains, and was really tired, probably from jetlag. Cody, however was really having a rough day. He is prone to migranes so bad that they mess up his vision. Sometimes giving him partial blindness. Today he had the early signs of one of these, and he took his meds, but still ended up getting terrible headaches all day.

We finished up the workday pretty uneventfully until Lauri met us at the sample room and invited us to his home for dinner.

Lauri is one of many Brazillians who live in China working for Brown. We gladly accepted. I have never been to the home of anyone living in China, so I was eager to see how he lived!

We met several people who work from the Dongguan office and one other person from Stl, Jeferson. Lauri lives on the 20th floor of a huge apartment complex with his wife and two children. He spent the majority of the evening preparing authentic Brazillian barbecue on his balcony. It was a-ma-zing! We had ribs and steak and chicken and sausage. I loved it! Lauri also likes making his own alcohol... Which he was very excited for us to try. He made cashasa and cappaiena which were really good, but really strong, so i only had tastes of it.

It was an awesome evening to get to know all these people who, until now, I have only known through email.
