China travel
Left St. Louis at 10:50 and connected in Chicago. This was the first flight to China on Economy Class since i was with Elan Polo. 15 Hours of misery!
We flew economy, but were able to upgrade our tickets to economy PLUS. Which basically means we pay for the better seats within the economy section. I got an exit row, so HALLELIUAH, MORE LEG ROOM! @
This advantage comes at a price however, because it was not only the exit row but also right next to the bathrooms. So the entire trip there were anywhere from 2 to 7 people standing in the exit row stepping on my feet and bumping me while waiting to crap. Not to mention the constant light from the bathroom door opening when i was trying (and failing) to sleep.
At one point someone must have exploded in the bathroom, or died, or just peed all over the walls, because one of the stewardesses came over with a hazmat suit and a big biohazard cleanup bag and scrubbed the bathroom, walls, seat, sink everything! And it was all within view.
These disadvantages were not the worst of it however. I had a middle seat right between a man and a woman. I quickly discovered that they were married and on a vacation. So, naturally, I asked them if they would like to sit next to eachother. They laughed at me and said "No, i would much rather have the window, and my husband would much rather have the aisle than sit in the MIDDLE."
I politely agreed not to move and then they began discussing their travel plans and passing medication back and forth.
They did this the entire trip... Also using my tray table to set their things down, and also resting their heads on my conveniently placed shoulders.
I tried to be as obnoxious as possible and move around lots. I turned my headphones way up and started bouncing around in my seat just to annoy them and get my vengeance.... But they didn't even notice.
When we finally arrived in Hong Kong 15 hours later, i had barely slept, and felt terrible.
We went to our airport hotel, checked in, and dropped our stuff in our rooms, and met for dinner in the hotel lobby.
By the end of dinner we had been awake for like 30 hours and were too exhausted to think straight. I felt drunk! We were trying to have a conversation but could barely finish coherent sentences, so we went to our rooms. I passed out instantly.
Today i got up around 5 am and went to the gym and had breakfast feeling quite refreshed. But we have another flight to go before we reach our final destination. Right now im typing away on my phone for this blog and will upload it later.
Im sitting in a middle seat once again between two passengers who clearly have never used deoderant!
This is awesone!!
Ill check back in later!
