SURREAL CHINA

I think I was on my way to meet people for dinner. I was walking down the hallway toward the elevators in my hotel, when I passed an open doorway. I heard music, so I glanced in the doorway, and immediately slowed down and had to stare for a second. The door led into a hotel room with three people inside, one standing and two sitting on the end of the bed. All three were wearing bathrobes… and eating corn dogs. They all stared back at me as I walked by. There are so many questions left unanswered by this bizarre combination of things… but this is just one example of why China is a surreal place that does not really exist in the real world.
